A charming organic farm in the Etruscan coast, perfect for relaxing in summertime
This farmhouse defines itself right off as a "bio agriturismo" or as an organic farmhouse. Started in 2000 by Marinella and Paolo, the farm grows organic vegetables and sells directly to the public with local delivery as well as hosting guests in its farmhouse.
It is the perfect setting for anyone wanting to stay in the Tuscan countryside as well as near the coast. In this case, the location is right outside the medieval hilltop village of Suvereto in the Val di Cornia area just 20 minutes from the beach.

Enjoying a Tuscan rustic farmhouse
The rustic Tuscan farmhouse has exposed wooden beams and terracotta floors across the entire house, everything is simply decorated yet very welcoming. There are 3 bedrooms, one of which is on the ground floor and equipped to host disabled visitors. All of the rooms have their own en-suite bathroom. It also has a small apartment that can host a small family of 4. The house's common areas include a large hall and kitchen where guests can enjoy relaxing and tasting the farm's products.
The farm's "green" side
Cortevilla's main activity is the growth and sell of fresh, seasonal organic vegetables and fruits, which are often transformed into and sold as pickeled vegetables, tomato sauce and fruit jams. All of their products are used by Marinella and Paolo to create delicious breakfasts, lunches and dinners for guests who request them. The special aspect of the farm is all meals are vegetarian and, on request, can also be made vegan, made with their own and local produce. When guests request dinner and there is still space at the garden table, outside guests (meaning not staying at the agriturismo) can call to be included in the meal: our own team tried out Paolo's vegetarian dinner when we were in the area and it was delicious!
The entire farm, when it was renovated, was made to follow the ecological ideals of Marinella and Paolo, from using solar and photo-voltaic panels for heating and enery use to a water filtration system that allows the reuse of the house water in the gardens. All organic material is composted and natural paints were used throughout the interiors to ensure the environment is chemical-free.
In the countryside close to Tuscany's beaches
The location of the farm is just outside the medieval village of Suvereto, a village that is part of the association "Borghi più belli d'Italia" and which hosts many interesting summer festivals and exhibitions that create lively evenings. The nearby village of Campiglia Marittima also merits a visit, as well as the Baratti Archeological area along the coast, the beaches at the parks of Sterpaia and Rimigliano, the hot springs at Venturina Terme and exploring the wine roads of Suvereto or further away in Bolgheri. The Etruscan Coast has many attractions, from sight-seeing, enjoying nature or being more active with cycling, horseback riding or tennis near Cortevilla.
Whatever you choose to do on your vacation in Tuscany's countryside, the Cortevilla farmhouse can be a great base for you to relax and recharge on your time away from your daily routine!
