The restructured “casale”, as the Italians call the farmhouses which dot the landscape, creates an unforgettable atmosphere characterized by the elegant mix of tradition and the unmistakable Italian flair for design and comfort. Each apartment, designed for two persons is comprised of a garden area, a double bedroom, en suite bathroom, a sitting room and many modern accessories.

Enchantment Reigns in these Woods

The name alone of the three types of accommodations at Agriturismo La Pieve, are reminders of its long and romantic past. We start with the Duke’s Suite, set in the antique stables of the farmhouse. The interior is particularly charming especially the repurposing of the large travertine stones for the fireplace; the wide brick arches and the combination of color with the characteristic gray stone. The 100m² is divided into two living room areas a formal dining room, a fully equipped self-catering kitchenette, a double bedroom and a bathroom

The Dépendance Hermitage, making reference to the antique church, features two large French doors accent the luminous interior. The use of the inner arches create a welcoming interior, warm and friendly. The dependence is independent of the main building and is comprised of 55 m² including a large living room, an eat-in kitchen, a romantic double bedroom and bathroom The private patio overlooks the olive groves of Agriturismo La Pieve and offers a private and secluded corner for its guests.

The third of the vacation rentals at Agriturismo La Pieve is called the House of the Knight and was carved out of a portion of the estate’s stable. Once again the splendid mix of the traditional architecture with Italian design and color creates a suggestive and comfortable accommodation with one delightful bedroom with its corner fireplace and direct access to the gardens. This apartment of 45 m² is comprised of a large room divided into a kitchen, dining area and living room. The patio corner is furnished with a table and chairs to enjoy the silence outdoors.

To ensure our guests have a quiet relaxing holiday we host  only adults or children over 12 years old.

Romance & Extra Services

This accommodation of charme, provides its guests with a solarium equipped exclusive to guests, who can relax, have a drink and enjoy a splendid view on the Siena hills and olive groves. In addition there is an infinity pool complete with recliners, tables and chairs. You can relax poolside and perfect your tan or you can request an “apericena” or a light meal to served at sunset. The garden, the forest area and the farm grounds have been transformed into romantic strolls with benches positioned in corners for privacy. It is possible to request two extra beds in all three apartments.

The apartments are furnished with starter kits, including dishwasher detergents, coffee capsules, a courtesy toiletries and hairdryer, terry cotton slippers and pool towels. Upon request your hostess will provide you with a Welcome Basket on your arrival with select Tuscan specialties to start your holiday off right. The kitchens come fully equipped with American coffee maker, toaster, fridge with freezer and dishwasher. The apartments are all have WiFi, a LCD TV and AC.

Found along the Via Francigena, the agriturismo is in the by the history of Tuscany: the pilgrims that traveled to Rome from Canterbury, the Etruscans that made their home in these hills and the many medieval towns that were caught in the rivalry between Florence and Siena. The tree-lined driveway recalls yesteryear and leads to the beautiful Romanesque church, la Pieve of SS. Ippolito and Cassiano, which dates back to the tenth century, and from which the agriturismo (La Pieve) gets its name.

For those looking to travel without a car, you can inquire about the shuttle service which is available. However, with so many nearby places to visit you may want to come with your car. San Gimignano and Siena, both UNESCO World Heritage Sites, promise much excitement with their towering landscape, shoppes and restaurants. The alabaster at Volterra makes excellent gift ideas as does the delicious wine and olive oil from the area of Colle Val d’Elsa.
