A True Tuscany Villa Rental
This imposing structure, dating from the 16th century, presents a unique opportunity to plan a holiday or event in an authentic piece of Tuscany. Set on two floors, the villa rental has been restored to its original beauty and furnished with antiques from the 17th and 18th century. The high ceilings with artistic wood moldings, the original a frescos, and the lovely fabrics that adorn the windows and furniture create a special ambiance of elegance and distinction.
The first floor of Villa il Turco houses a fully equipped eat-in kitchen, featuring a traditional Tuscan fireplace, oven, dishwasher and clothes washer. One of the three bathrooms is located on the ground floor. There is a dining room with a vaulted ceiling and direct access to the lovely gardens that surround the accommodations. The villa boasts several common areas which lend themselves to spending time together with family and friends, like the living room on the ground floor.
Antique Furnishings & Vaulted Ceilings
The second floor is accessible by both an internal and external stairwell, and opens to a sitting room with a piano, a large library with fireplace and a spacious living room. The villa has incorporated many modern amenities including WiFi and Satellite TV. All of the 5 double bedrooms, 3 with double beds and 2 with two singles each, are located on the “piano nobile,” or the floor reserved for the noble family. The bedrooms, with their high wood beam ceilings, are furnished with typical dark wood 4 poster beds and wrought iron frames, reminiscent of the original furnishing for of the time. There are two bathrooms on this floor one with a shower and one with a bathtub. The villa rental comes with a mid-week linen change, and daily cleaning services can be requested for a small fee.
The villa is closed from mid October to mid May since it is not furnished with heating.
Views of a Wine Producing Estate
For a bit of fun and games there is the billiard room on the second floor and the private swimming pool (5 x 10 meters) in the Italian styled gardens. Filtered views of the wine producing estate are visible from the terrace, be sure to reserve your spot for a wine tasting and visit to the cantina. Behind the villa is a spectacular terrace, the position promises privacy, tranquility and stunning scenic views of the valley near Montespertoli. For those looking to arrange a wedding ceremony or a repledging of vows, there is a small private chapel on the grounds which makes a lovely setting for these special moments.
The patio is furnished for outdoor dining and there is a BBQ for preparing meals on the grill. Close to the villa is the much acclaimed restaurant with a menu featuring classical Tuscan dishes and fresh local ingredients, including seasonal specialties like the pear and pecorino cheese flan and of course, the wines, grappas and vin santos produced on the estate, as well as other delicious Chianti (and non) wines.
A Visit to Florence, Siena & Pisa
Villa il Turco is strategically situated less than 30 minutes from Florence, forever known for its rich museums, beautiful monuments and great shopping. Even closer is the picturesque town of Montespertoli, which frequently hosts wine festivals and events. The town famous for its truffles, San Miniato, is less than 25 km, and has a lovely historic center to visit with restaurants and shops. For those who appreciate the natural beauty of Tuscany, the marshlands of Fucecchio merit a visit, especially for the rich diversity in wildlife and activities - hiking, biking and boating.
Exciting adventures are easy to plan from the villa rental! Both Pisa and Siena make excellent day trips, where you can visit the classical monuments and stroll the quaint streets within the city center. The historic via Francigena stretches both north and south of Villa il Turco and promises well marked trails and paths for both hikers and bikers.
